Description
Increased hardness and stiffnessSpectrum Carbon PLA is a modified PLA filament with a 10% addition of carbon fibers, which ensures a significant increase in stiffness, hardness, and tensile strength while maintaining low shrinkage and very good adhesion to the build platform characteristic of pure PLA. The addition of carbon fibers allows for a matte finish on the manufactured elements, which significantly enhances the aesthetic value of the printed elements.Note: Due to the significant content of crushed carbon fibers, it is recommended to use nozzles with a larger diameter than the standard 0.4 mm. Additionally, the presence of carbon fibers can cause wear on brass nozzles, so for long-term use of Spectrum Carbon PLA, stainless steel or ruby nozzles are recommended.
Material Properties
Higher hardness and stiffness compared to pure PLA
Increased plasticization temperature
Increased abrasion resistance of printed parts
Significantly increased compressive strength
Excellent layer lamination
Matte print surface
No shrinkage
Applications
The unique properties of Carbon PLA material allow its use in the production of components that require high stiffness and hardness while maintaining dimensional accuracy. This most commonly occurs during the production of spacer elements exposed to static pressure load. In addition, the enhanced aesthetic properties of the manufactured components allow the use of this material for the production of decorative parts and external structural elements that display the design of the product or its prototype.
